What is TES interpretation?

TES interpretation is applying a collective agreement’s rules to the hours actually worked. In practice every clocked hour is classified correctly: base hours, overtime, equilibration-period overruns, and evening, night, Sunday and holiday premiums. Done by hand in Excel, mistakes land straight on the pay slip. Vuoron does the interpretation at the system level, so the calculation is the same every time.

The amusement-park TES — what the system must handle

Amusement-park work is seasonal and shifts vary. Correct TES interpretation accounts for:

  • Overtime across the equilibration period — hours balance over a 2–3-week period, not day by day.
  • Rest periods and rest days — daily and weekly rest compliance is monitored.
  • Evening, night, Sunday and holiday premiums — applied to the right hours automatically.
  • Leave, absence and accruals — sick pay and premiums per the agreement.
  • Union dues and other deductions — handled as part of the payroll dataset.

How Vuoron automates TES interpretation

Interpretation isn’t a separate step — it runs through the whole chain, from shift to pay slip. During planning the system warns about TES violations before you publish.Kiosk clock-in records actual hours, even offline. In payroll, hours are classified automatically and reconciliation recomputes from source. The result is aNetvisor-ready payroll dataset you can hand to your accountant as-is.

More on the practicalities: TES compliance in shift scheduling, payroll errors in amusement parks, and shift scheduling and TES compliance in one tool.

TES compliance and audit

TES limits are enforced across planning, time tracking and payroll. Violations are logged and stay visible, and every change leaves an audit trail. Maintaining the TES rules is on us — when the agreement changes, the update ships to the system automatically.

Frequently asked questions

What is TES interpretation?

TES interpretation means applying the collective agreement’s rules to actual hours worked: overtime thresholds, equilibration periods, rest periods and evening/night/Sunday/holiday premiums are all classified automatically for payroll. Vuoron does this at the system level, not by hand.

Which collective agreement is Vuoron built for?

Vuoron is built for the Finnish amusement-park sector collective agreement (TES). Maintaining the TES rules is on us — updates ship to the system automatically, so the calculation stays current.

How is overtime calculated across an equilibration period?

Vuoron computes overtime thresholds per equilibration period (typically 2–3 weeks) from actual hours and classifies each hour automatically. Breaches and exceptions are flagged during planning, not at payroll time.

Does the result flow into payroll?

Yes. Actual clock-ins produce a TES-classified payroll dataset that exports as a Netvisor-ready file for your accountant.

Are TES violations visible before the pay period?

Yes. Rest-period breaches, missing rest days and overtime-threshold overruns are flagged while you build the roster and are recorded in the audit trail.
